The Pudelpointer Club of North America is dedicated to preserving and protecting the Pudelpointer as an exceptional versatile hunting dog. Founded in Canada in 1977, our club upholds a tradition of careful breeding, high standards, and commitment to the breed’s future.
Developed in Germany in 1881, the Pudelpointer combines the German Hunting Pudel’s intelligence, retrieving instinct, and love of water with the English Pointer’s drive, pointing ability, and endurance. The breed first arrived in North America in 1956.
Through breeding guidelines and performance evaluations, we work to preserve natural hunting ability, sound temperament, and trainability. We value dogs that perform across varied terrain and conditions while becoming dependable hunting partners and trusted companions at home.
Our club brings together hunters, breeders, and owners who share a passion for the Pudelpointer. Together, we protect its heritage and the qualities that generations of hunters have valued, helping ensure they endure for generations to come.
